Η εκδοτική των κειμένων της νεοελληνικής γραμματείας [Editing modern Greek literary texts]

This volume brings together eleven papers presented in the Symposium entitled «Editing Modern Greek Literary Texts», which was organized by the Institute of Modern Greek Studies on April 27th, 2015, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the premature death of Eleni Pahini-Tsantsanoglou (1937–3.1.1995) and George P. Savidis (1929–11.6.1995).

One need not present numerous examples or arguments to show that, for the collective scientific conscience as well as for the general public, the distinctive attribute for which these two leading philologists achieved permanent recognition was, and continues to be, that of a highly skilled, sometimes even pioneering, but always practical and useful editor of Modern Greek literary texts.

The papers included in the volume focus on the following thematic areas: (a) evaluations of and observations on the editing work of E. Pahini-Tsantsanoglou and G. P. Savidis, (b) research reports and presentations regarding publications of Modern Greek literary texts by scientific institutes and organizations as well as by commercial publishing houses, (c) future editorial plans, prospects and directions in connection with editing methods (linguistic, orthographic, etc.), the support of the edited text with supplementary material (introduction, commentary, glossary, word indexes, appendices, etc.), and the production of digital editions and e-books.
