Literature archive

There is a rich and invaluable archive at the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, consisting of about 64.000 entries (approximately 300.000 index cards) from the indexing of Modern Greek literary texts (around two hundred accomplished authors, poets and prose writers were indexed, from the 18th century to the first half of the 20th century).

The work was carried out by a team of volunteer students in an effort made by the late professor of Modern Greek literature, Linos Politis, to compile an interpretative dictionary of Modern Greek literature. This archive Linos Politis donated to the Institute of Modern Greek Studies in 1965.
