The book is mainly intended for young Greeks living abroad, whose everyday life in the host country and their education have more or less alienated them from the sound of their native language and from Greek traditions. The book’s aim is to assist parents and teachers in their effort to keep these children’s relationship to the Greek language and tradition alive. The vivid and warm narration of a ten-year-old girl as well as the book’s smart illustration render it appealing to children of this age. The English translation has been included in order to help those children who find it difficult to access the language of the original text directly.
