The book is intended for teachers who will be called upon to teach the Modern Greek as a second language (Course B) coursebook. It is a suggestion for the teaching of each module, without, however, aspiring to be the sole ‘interpretative’ approach. It is up to the teacher to make the necessary adjustments, even changes, in the book’s material, depending on his/her students, that is, depending on their level of proficiency, their country of origin, etc. In addition, it is of particular importance whether the course is taught in Greece or in a foreign country. The book was written with all those teaching our language in mind, particularly, however, the teachers of emigrant hellenism.

The author is fully aware of the issues regarding the teaching of Modern Greek in the communities of emigrant hellenism, having served as a Greek language consultant at the Ministry of Education in the state of Victoria, Melbourne.
