The Institute of Modern Greek Studies participated in the 10th Thessaloniki Book Fair, which was held from May 16th to May 19th, 2013, at the Helexpo Exhibition Center in Thessaloniki (Pavilion 13, stand 52). The 10th Thessaloniki Book Fair was dedicated to the poet C. P. Cavafy, commemorating the 150th anniversary of his birth.

The new edition of the Institute Modern Greek Language Curriculum, Checkpoint A, was presented at the teachers of New York. The Curriculum was compliled by P. Andreou, associate of the Institute, in collaboration with the Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The Curriculum is in adherence with the standards of the New York State Education Department for the teaching of foreign languages in high schools.

A language event was held on Friday, February 15th, 2013 (18:30), at the Kovendareio Hall, in which two presentations were made. The first one, by Panagiotis Andreou, associate of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, discussed "The Greek language and the Institute of Modern Greek Studies", whereas the presentation by George Papanastassiou, director of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, focused on "The Greek language and orthography".
