Teacher Training Program at the "Zografeio” Lyceum

The Institute of Modern Greek Studies and the "Zografeio” Lyceum of Istanbul organized a Teacher Training Program for the teachers of Istanbul, from February 11th to 13th, 2019, at the “Zografeio” Lyceum. The Program entitled “Teaching… speaking, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, in mixed-classes” was organized and presented by Panagiotis Andreou, research associate of the Institute, and Nikos Amvrazis, teaching assistant at the Department of Linguistics of A.U.Th. and independent associate of the Institute.
 

In the Educational Program, which lasted 9 hours and had as a main objective to enhance teachers' skills in teaching Greek as a foreign language, participated about 20 Greek language teachers from various schools of Istanbul (Zografeio, Zappeio etc.), both from primary and secondary education. Mr. Yannis Dermitzoglou, Director of the "Zografeio” Lyceum, and the teachers who participated were particularly pleased with the content and the organization of the workshop and stressed that this was fully in line with their expectations and needs. Both institutions expressed the hope to continue their cooperation by organizing similar actions in the near future.
