Manolis Triandaphyllidis and the Institute of Modern Greek Studies

The Public Library of Edessa and the Philologists' School counselor of the Pella County, Ms. Antonia Papadaki, co-organized a symposium entitled «Manolis Triandaphyllidis and the Institute of Modern Greek Studies». The symposium was held on 26 January 2011 at the «Megas Alexandros» hall in Edessa, Macedonia.

 

The following presentations were made:

• Vaso Melikidou, Dr. of Philology, secondary school teacher, associate of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies: "Manolis Triandaphyllidis: His life and work".

• George Papanastassiou, Director of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, Assistant Professor of Historical Linguistics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: "The Institute of Modern Greek Studies: past and future".

• Angeliki Loudi, Dr. of Philology, researcher at the Institute of Modern Greek Studies: "The Modern Greek literature publications of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies".

• Nikos Liosis, Dr. of Philology, researcher at the Institute of Modern Greek Studies: "The linguistic publications of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies".

• Vaso Melikidou, Dr. of Philology, secondary school teacher, associate of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies: "The Institute of Modern Greek Studies and Lexicography".

• George Papanastassiou, Director of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, Assistant Professor of Historical Linguistics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: "The 'Archaiognosia and Archaioglossia in Secondary Education' series".

Throughout the duration of the event, selected material from the archive of M. Triandaphyllidis and the Institute of Modern Greek Studies was exhibited at the hall foyer.
