In 1949, Manolis Triandaphyllidis published a concise edition of the Modern Greek Grammar (of Demotic) entitled A Concise Grammar of Modern Greek, intended mainly for teachers and students. The book was not in use in education for years until it was endorsed by the educational reform of 1964. It, then, circulated in facsimile form in thousands of copies.
The Grammar of Modern Greek – An Adaptation of the Concise Grammar of Modern Greek by Manolis Triandaphyllidis (published in 1976 by the Greek Ministry of Education), which is now taught in all Greek schools, essentially replaced the Concise Grammar of Modern Greek, whose publication ceased. However, the book has been translated into 14 languages and is available all over the world.
