Ερευνητικά [Research issues]

This book consists of articles written by Emm. Kriaras, and cover a wide range of issues e.g. linguistic, lexicographic, pedagogical, biographical or autobiographical. Several of these are published here for the first time. Names, such as those of G. Psycharis, M. Triandaphyllidis, Ach. Tzartzanos, A. Manesis, B. Lavagnini, I. Sikoutris, G. Theotokas, F. Fotiadis, D. Glinos, and other leading philologists and novelists, follow one another as the reader browses the pages of the book. The volume also includes the necessary indices of persons, objects, etc.

The author was professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a correspondent member of the Athens Academy of Letters, and was honored with numerous medals and awards both in Greece and abroad. He had been appointed by Manolis Triandaphyllidis himself as one of the members of the first Board of Directors of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, and served as General Secretary from 1959 to 1968, when the military regime dismissed him from the university due to his democratic beliefs.
