Training Seminar for the New York teachers 2013

The Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, organized a training seminar for New York teachers on 5 November 2013, at St. Demetrios Highschool, Astoria, New York, with the participation of representatives of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies.

The Institute's associate, Mr. P. Andreou, gave a speech entitled "The Pronunciation in the Language Classroom: Issues of teaching and learning". Moreover, Mr. Andreou and Mr. G. Papanastassiou, director of the Institute, presented the "Modern Greek Language Curriculum, Checkpoint B", which the Institute is currently developing for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

On November 7th, the Institute's director, Mr. G. Papanastassiou, gave a speech entitled "The Greek Vocabulary from Homer to the Present" at the Cultural Center of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in Astoria. The event was organized by the "Prometheus" Association of Greek Teachers in collaboration with the Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education.
